Passing of Aldrea Lenox

GOSPELflava joins others around the country in mourning the passing of Aldrea Lenox (pictured top left), wife of the late Pastor (and noted singer) James Lenox (God’s Been Good to Me aka I Won’t Complain) and mother of Annette Queenie Lenox and Pastor Lamont Lenox.  A singer in her own right, Aldrea Lenox along with Ethel Holloway and Elsa Harris made up the Jessy Dixon Singers and traveled across the country and the world.  The group so greatly impressed Paul Simon that he had them back him on his Saturday Night Live appearance and recorded two million selling albums with them.  Funeral arrangements are pending.
