Pastor Marvin Sapp Elevated to Bishop


MarvinSapp_10_024_590x287GOSPELflava joins others across the globe sending congratulatory greetings to Pastor Marvin Sapp on his elevation to the office of Bishop.  The consecration ceremony was held during the gathering of the Global United Fellowship gathering in Jacksonville, Florida on July 10th.
Bishop Sapp is currently enjoying the success of Yes You Can, the hit single which hit #1 on the Mediabase chart.  Yes You Can comes from his fourth #1 album You Shall Live released by RCA Inspiration on June 2nd.

Tye Tribbett Hosts Hate Won’t Win Benefit Concert

Tye Tribbett 514In response to the June 17th Charleston Church shooting, Israel Houghton, Tasha Cobbs,  Mali Music and Columbia, SC native Travis Greene will join Tye Tribbett for Hate Won’t Win, a concert benefiting the families of the nine victims. The concert will serve as the opening event for Tribbett’s second annual “The Chosen Music Mentorship” conference for church worship leaders on June 23rd at Columbia South Carolina’s Medallion Conference Center.
“Gospel is the good news,” Tribbett says of his use of music as a healing tool. “By spreading the music we induce hope, and we train new worship leaders so they are equipped with the same intent to go fearlessly where some have lost hope and to boldly declare through this gospel that there is yet hope.”

Rejoice Musical Soulfoods Adds “The Coko and Cory Radio Show”

We were first exposed to the antics of SWV’s Cheryl Coko Clemons and her manager Cory Taylor via their interaction and verbal comedic joCokoandCoreyusts on the hit We TV reality show SWV Reunited.  The joy of the experience makes its way to radio with the addition of The Coko and Cory Radio Show on Rejoice Musical Soulfood.
Manager Cory explains the camaraderie this way, “We both grew up in church but in the show we say things other Christians may be thinking but are afraid to say.”  Rejoice Musical Soulfood CEO Mike Chandler agrees. “The response has been incredible.  The audience is really loving the dynamic of Coko and Cory.  So, I’m excited to see where the show is going from here.”

Richard Smallwood’s Anthology Bows At Number 1

Stan Jones Launches Clout Music Group, Signs Durward Davis

Stan Jones has maStan Jones Cloutde a name for himself writing and producing the hits for Bryan Courtney Wilson (All I Need), Mississippi Mass Choir (God’s On Your Side) and Marvin Sapp (You Shall Live, Greater, He Has His Hands On You).  Today, the multifaceted producer and award winning composer enlarges his territory  with the formation of Clout Music Group.  Jones announced BET Sunday Best Season Three finalist Durward Davis as the first artist signed to the new label.
Jones is ecstatic about the label and had this to say , “He’s a phenomenal vocalist and great communicator through song. I’m excited to launch my label with his project and to witness what God will do through the unification of our gifts.”
